General Drumwithus update.
This has so far been an incredible year for me and drumming as it becomes the very core of what I am about. A quick mention for the people of the counselling centre The Marple Cross in Southsea and especially Libby Purves who brought me along to a convention of GP’s with the chance to engage them about drumming.
A mixed reception from the doctors and nurses from a broad cross section of the NHS, however I had a chance to talk to some of them about HealthRhythms, the mind / body connection and the health benefits of drumming. Positive feedback came from the various Addiction and support organisations also in attendance. Back in April for a drum circle ( Now that should be interesting ) and get the doctors playing……..well hopefully, we shall see. There is still alot of work to do here.
I also recently completed a HealthRhythms session with the staff from a mental health support group which was a great success the feedback being really upbeat.
” The session was absolutely fantastic and everyone really enjoyed it. Thank you very much for meeting with us and sharing your skills “
Manager, Mary Francis Trust, Leatherhead.
We are now about to start a regular drumming session with some of their service users, using Healthrhythms and once again just plain fun drumming.
I had a fantastic session playing with two groups of teenagers at a 6th form college in Hampshire last week. Really great grooves, rhythms and lots of smiles. The taster was once again such a success that we are looking to do more sessions with the groups there starting very shortly.
” The arts invite students to be active participants in their world rather than mere observers ” Charles Fowler.
Love life and rhythm.
